1968 - Eric Burdon split from The Animals.
1975 - Thieves stole $86,000 from Ike and Tina Turner after making off with a suitcase containing concert receipts.
1976 - Isaac Hayes filed for bankruptcy.
1978 - Faces drummer Kenney Jones replaced Keith Moon in The Who. Moon had died a couple of months earlier.
1981 - A London rock 'n' roll auction pulled in $2,000 for a cover letter Buddy Holly sent to Decca Records, while John and Cynthia Lennons marriage certificate was auctioned off for $850. Meanwhile, an autographed program from the world premiere of The Beatles film Help! pulled in $2,100.
1984 - CBS Records announced the upcoming release of She's the Boss, Mick Jaggers first solo album.
1991 - Gregg Allman played a drug kingpin in the movie Rush, in his acting debut.
