1973 - David Bowie made his first appearance on a TV special, 1980 Floor Show, which aired on NBC's Midnight Special.

1974 - Stevie Wonder released "Boogie On Reggae Woman.”

1978 - The film version of The BeatlesSgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band opened, with The Bee Gees, Peter Frampton and Billy Preston all making their acting debuts in the picture.

1981 - KISS released "The Elder".

1987 - Lenny Kravitz married actress Lisa Bonet. They would separate in 1990 and later divorce in 1993.

1988 - Former Beach Boys manager Stan Love, who is also the brother of lead singer Mike Love, was sentenced to 5 years probation after he was found guilty of embezzling over $300,000 from the band.

1988 - KISS released Smashes, Thrashes & Hits.
