1965 - The Rolling Stones, Strangeloves and Fontella Bass all appeared on the television program Shindig!
1965 - The Animals released their hit song "It's My Life."
1966 - Bill Graham opened his Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, California.
1973 - Phil Kaufman, manager for singer Gram Parsons, was fined $300 for stealing Parsons' body from the Los Angeles International Airport. Kaufman said it was Parson's wish to be cremated.
1975 - The Sex Pistols played their first live show at Londons St. Martin's School of Art.
2001 - Metallica released Classic Albums on VHS and DVD.
