1963 - The Beatles released "She Loves You."
1965 - The Rolling Stones opened the second season of Shindig! with a performance of "Satisfaction." Other bands featured in the season opener included the Kinks, Byrds and Everly Brothers.
1966 - Pete Quafe made his departure from the Kinks, who replaced him with John Dalton.
1970 - Jimi Hendrix made his final public appearance, playing with Eric Burdon and War at a London club.
1977 - T. Rex frontman Marc Bolan died in a car accident at the age of 29.
1978 - The Grateful Dead recorded a concert in front of The Great Pyramid in Egypt.
1985 - KISS released the album Asylum.
1993 - The home of Grace Slick was destroyed after being ravaged by a fire.
1998 - After 24 years, Mott The Hoople reunited to play at a Virgin Megastore in London.
