1963 - The Angels entered history books as  the first white all-female group to chart a No.1 record, with "My Boyfriend's Back."

1965 - The Beatles received a gold record for their hit single "Help!"

1965 - The Rolling Stones made an appearance on British TV show "Ready Steady Go!" Mick Jagger performed a parody of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe" With Andrew Loog Oldham.

1965 - The Beatles released the single "Yesterday," a song which has gone on to become the most covered tune of all time.

1971 - The Grateful Dead's ex-manager was arrested after embezzling $70,000 from the band.  He was immortalized in the song, “He’s Gone.”

1978 - George Harrison married Olivia Trinidad Arias, then a secretary at his Dark Horse record company.

1981 - Prince released the single "Controversy."

1987 - Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Peter Gabriel and Tracy Chapman kicked off the Amnesty International Tour in London.

1989 - The CarsRic Ocasek married Paulina Porizkova.

1997 - War released their 20th album, Coleccion Latina.
