1964 - The Beatles released the album A Hard Day’s Night.

1977 - Elvis Presley played his final concert at Market Square Arena, Indianapolis.

1986 - Metallica frontman James Hetfield broke his wrist trying to skateboard down a hill. The band cancelled one show and Hetfield performed the remainder of dates on the tour on vocals only and with John Marshall on guitar.
